The team at Risk Leader is on a mission.
We are bringing risk management concepts into the main stream. We are building a framework that integrates risk management into the normal management practices that are already taking place in most organizations. Embedding and de-mystifying risk management concepts will deliver some real benefits. When the Risk Leader Framework is in place:
- Everyone in the organization will understand which of their assigned activities and goals contribute most to the organization’s success.
- Strategies and decisions will better incorporate risk as an integrated component.
- Management will be able to recognize and adjust the level of risk in its strategies.
- The organization will be able to identify and track its most significant external risks.
- Management and auditors will be able to identify the critical internal controls.
These benefits come from a consistent and transparent integration of risk concepts into your normal management activities. I want to repeat that -- into your normal management activities. When everyone has a consistent view of how your organization operates and has the training and tools to maximize their contributions, success naturally follows.
At their core, risk management concepts are straight-forward:
- Some goals within your organization are more important than others. You achieve more success when everyone focuses on the activities that contribute to those goals.
- When you design your strategies to achieve those goals, some potential strategies will be riskier than others.
- A higher risk strategy has a wider range of potential outcomes – it could be wildly successful or a total flop. Alternatively, a lower risk strategy has a narrower, more predictable range of outcomes.
- Higher risk strategies are not necessarily better or worse than lower risk strategies. The risk level of a strategy just needs to be aligned with the given circumstances.
If these concepts make intuitive sense, if you can see how your organization can benefit by having everyone understand and use these concepts, then the Risk Leader Framework is for you. This framework is unique. Rather than provide definitions and explanations of "what risk is", we are providing a way of integrating the essential concepts into day-to-day management. We're business people focused on real results.
The framework is in its final editing. We'll be publishing it soon. Rest assured that all of the concepts that we'll be explaining are already being used by us in our own organizations. We're not going to be publishing an elegant but impractical theory - we'll be publishing guidance that we've vetted in the real world.

You can click here to go directly to Risk Tracker. This is the spot where you can create your own Entity. You can model your own organization by adding Departments or People. The best thing is to try it out. We have a Sand Box area where you can just jump in.
We also have some descriptions of how this all fits together.
Risk Tracker is the secured area of this site. This is where you can set up your own entities (companies) and maintain
specific information about your own risk environment. It's fee based (but
If you decide to give Risk Tracker an extended hands-on trial, you can get a single license with basic functionality - 60 days initially for only $25. Come on, you know that's a heck of a deal. With your payment, you get the ability to create an Entity of your own. You can also decide which other registered members can access your Entity - either read only or with update rights.
After 60 days, you can extend your license (fees shown below) or you can just let it lapse. Even if you let it lapse, you'll still have basic functionality for another 6 months in case you change your mind and want to come back. We won't delete your data right away. We think you'll find Risk Tracker to be extremely useful, especially when you compare it to other $$$$$$$$ tools out there that charge a lot more but don't deliver the practical usefulness. We're pretty confident you'll see the investment in a license is a really smart decision that will help you and your entity achieve its objectives. <\p> Full license prices are:
| Full license prices are: | |
|---|---|
| Full year's license for a single entity | $250 |
| Full year's license for 5 entities (very useful for consultants) | $1,100 |
| Full year's license for 10 entities (very useful for successful consultants) | $2,000 |
But you have to create a member account (no charge for that) and log in to get a Risk Tracker license. After you're logged in, go to the Risk Tracker tab and see how you can sign up for this service. Remember, it's only $25 to get a 60-day trial. $25?? That's about 10 minutes of a consultant's time and I assure you Risk Tracker will be about a zillion times more useful than 10 minutes of a consultant's time.
